Point-to-Point Wireless Systems for voice fax and data to provide high capacity and thin route links for narrowband frequency applications, allowing for a single link to cover long distances at a very low cost.
A full range of systems is available from Mayan including analog, digital, single channel and multichannel configurations. Links are available for voice, fax or data at a variety of speeds, depending on the application.
Each Mayan Point-to-Point system is briefly described in this brochure.
1. DTEL - 3 CHANNEL (2+1) DIGITAL 19.2 Kbps in 25KHz, 64 Kbps in 100KHz
The DTEL is a simple to use, sophisticated, self contained digital system using integrated multiplexer, modem and radio. The system allows 2 voice or fax lines plus an additional single data circuit to be combined together and sent as a single wireless signal in a point-to-point manner.
The 3 channels (2+1 voice and data) can offer different grades of service to meet your specific requirement. The D -wire uses MP-MLQ coding for toll quality voice circuits at a very low sampling rate. The 19.2 Kbps version offers 2 x 6.4 Kbps voice or fax (4800 baud) plus 1 x 4.8 Kbps for the data channel (synchronous or asynchronous). The 64.0 Kbps version offers 2 x 12.8 Kbps voice plus 1 x 19.2 Kbps data for 2 full speed fax (9600 baud) or voice lines plus reliable high speed wireless Internet access. Voice speed (sampling rate) is user selectable. Options for payphone service with 12/16khz metering and polarity reversal are also available.
2. RMOD - WIRELESS RS-232 POINT-TO-POINT DATA LINK 64 Kbps and 19.2 Kbps
The RMOD units utilize the same high performance digital wireless link as the DTEL systems above except for a single circuit for data only applications. The RMOD series units do not include a multiplexer and offers full data throughput as the error correction is performed by the DTE. Two RMOD radio modem units along with accessories (antennas, cable, etc.) are required for a point-to-point link. Local Area Networks (LAN's) can be connected using RMOD units.
3. R TEL & P TEL - 1 CHANNEL, LOW COST, HIGH SPEC ANALOG SYSTEMS
The RTEL and PTEL systems are complete point-to-point systems including antennas, cables and remote telephone set. Each system provides a single telephone line at a remote location. Only a single 12.5 or 25 KHz duplex channel is needed for either system. The RTEL uses DTMF in-band signaling for high reliability, low cost and allows for mobiles and handheld operation (options). The RTEL system comes pre-programmed with 10 channels.
The PTEL uses 3825Hz Out-band signaling per ITU specifications and is the preferred system for Telephone Companies and service providers. Options for the PTEL systems include payphone signaling, 4-wire E&M circuits, voice scrambling and 32-channel option.
4. QTEL64 - 4 LINE DIGITAL VOICE, FAX & DATA AT 64 KBPS IN 100KHZ
The QTEL64 is similar to the DTEL (64.0 version) in size and performance, however a 4 line multiplexer is used with 4 circuits at 16Kbps each. Up to 2 circuits can be switched for data service for a combination of voice+fax service (4+0, 3+1 or 2+2).
Toll quality service to 4 subscribers via a digital link offers high security and high reliability for remote areas. The QTEL64 is an economical system replacement for 4 analog links with a simple installation of only 1 antenna at each end. This system is ideal or rural PCO applications. An external concentrator (TM-DPG4/15) is available to serve 15 independent circuits.
5. MTEL- 128Kbps LINK FOR 8 TO 40 CIRCUITS WITHIN A 100KHz BANDWIDTH
The MTEL digital point-to-multipoint offers a 136Kbps digital frame architecture allowing for optional direct ISDN link. The normal MTEL is configured for 8 circuits of 16Kbps each using ADPCM and can be reprogrammed to offer 4 x 32Kbps, 2 x 64Kbps or a combination of service levels plus an option for high speed data (J64). The basic system is for 8 dedicated lines. Plug-in option cards offer expandability up to 24 or 40 dedicated circuits across the 8 wireless trunks.
6. ETEL - E1 2, 4, 8 MBPS LINK WITH CONCENTRATION TO 720 SUBSCRIBERS
The ETEL system provides a primary communication link for direct connection of telecom equipment via the industry standard G.703/G.704 2Mbit/s ports. Applications for wireless extensions to a remote PABX, subscriber multiplex system, SCADA network, or cellular network are common for the ETEL system.
(The E -wire system is available in different versions up to 4x E1, 8 Mbit/s)
In conjunction with Mayan's T738 Pair Gain systems, the functions of the digital multiplexer, concentrator equipment can be integrated in a relatively small single terminal, providing full access for telephone, fax, data equipment, BA ISDN, 4-wire E&M, etc. for up to 720 subscribers.
POINT-TO-POINT WIRELESS SUMMARY
Mayan offers complete system planning software to help select and design the best point-to-point system for each of your special applications. Application Notes, Technical Specifications and detailed System Descriptions are available.
Please, note that all systems can be provided with repeater service to extend service over mountains or greater distances. Some systems have a capability of line drop at the repeater location if required.
Mayan is constantly upgrading in-country service facilities to provide you with the latest state-of-the-art systems at the most reasonable cost. Many Mayan systems are expandable and as service requirement change, systems can be upgraded or reconfigured without replacing your original investment in infrastructure.
